The Chambers County Sheriff's Department offers citizens of the county one of the most important services available.... SECURITY & PROTECTION!! In addition, there are several programs sponsored by the Sheriff's department to aide citizens who have experienced a crime first hand or to help apprehend someone who has committed a serious crime.
Victim's Services of Violent CrimesThe Victim Services Program of the sheriff's office is a multi-faceted program developed to provide direct services to victims and survivors of violent crime in Chambers County. This program ensures the rights of crime victims as directed by the State legislature of Texas, Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 56.
This program provides primary and secondary victims of violent crime with immediate crisis intervention, information and referral, and support and follow-up services. Another specific function of the program is to improve relationships between law enforcement and the crime victims, and the willingness on the part of the victim to cooperate with the criminal justice system.
Eligibility
Victim Services is available to any citizen of Chambers County or to any victim or survivor of a crime committed within the county. This service depends on the community to support their efforts and volunteers are always needed to provide Crime Scene Response, fund raising and community awareness.
Crime Scene Response
The Victim Assistance Volunteer Team is requested by the deputy on any violent crime scene such as: homicide, suicide, sexual assault, aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, death notification and family violence.
Responders provide at the crime scene the following services:
- Crisis Intervention
- Accompaniment to hospitals, law enforcement agencies and/or referral service agencies.
- Information about the criminal justice system.
- Emergency needs.
- Assistance in obtaining protective orders.
- Assistance completing applications for Crime Victim Compensation claims.

Chambers County Crime Stoppers offers tax free rewards up to $1000.00 for information leading up to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons that have committed a crime. If you have any information call the Chambers County Crime Stoppers at (409) 267-3233 and you will not be asked for your name.
Chambers County Crime Stoppers has also integrated the Safe School Program. This program, in conjunction with the Chambers County Sheriff's Department offers tax free rewards up to $1000.00 for information leading to the arrest and charges filed for the following crimes:
- Possession of guns or other weapons.
- Possession of drugs.
- Thefts
- Sexual assaults
- Gang activities
