Chambers County, Texas
Winnie-Stowell Overview
Located in the eastern section of Chambers County, the Winnie-Stowell area is at "The Crossroads" of Southeast Texas. Situated at the junction of Interstate 10, State Highway 73, and State Highway 124, this region is in an excellent position for any type businesses relating to transportation or dedicated to the service of travelers.
Within the past five years, Winnie has seen a drastic increase in business development and population growth. This expansion is due the realization that the area is a prime location for development. In 1995, highway statistics show that a daily average of 31,070 vehicles traveled Interstate 10 through Winnie, a total of 7,460 came down on State Highway 73 into Winnie, and an ever impressive 12,700 passed through the center of town on State Highway 124. With these figures in mind, and the fact that prime real estate is still available around the intersection of these thoroughfares, there is no wondering why the area has seen an increase of 150% in fast food establishments, and 33% in motel accommodations.
