The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for managing and maintaining over 25 public parks and recreational facilities in Chambers County. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for residents and promote the use of outdoor spaces.

Duties of Parks and Recreation

Park Management: We are responsible for managing and maintaining all county-owned parks. This includes maintaining green spaces, playgrounds, and other park amenities.

Facility Maintenance: Our team oversees the maintenance and upkeep of recreational facilities such as sports fields, community centers, and picnic areas.

Park Planning and Development: Parks and Recreation is involved in the design and development of new parks and recreation facilities to meet the growing needs of the community.

Budgeting and Financial Management: We prepare and manage budgets to ensure the efficient use of public funds in providing these services.

Accessibility: Ensuring that parks and facilities are accessible to all community members, including those with disabilities.
