Hazard Mitigation

Welcome to the Chambers County Hazard Mitigation Plan page. Information regarding hazard mitigation planning, public meeting dates and links to a public survey and, when competed, the draft plan for review and comment can be found here. The plan’s goal is to save lives and property by reducing hazard vulnerability for Chambers County and participating jurisdictions, City of Anahuac, Beach City, Cove, Mt. Belvieu, and Old River-Winfree. During the course of this plan update, county, local leaders, key stakeholders, and the community will collaborate to identify risks, assess capabilities, and formulate a strategy to reduce disaster vulnerability.

Other ways the community can help is to attend public meetings and provide input as well as review the draft plan and provide comments.
