The Chambers County Public Health Department is the principal agency for protecting the health and well-being of the residents of Chambers County.  We believe in preserving, promoting and protecting the health of our county residents by providing quality and preventive public health services.  The Department includes four programs (Clinical Health Services,  Community Health, Emergency Preparedness & Response and Women, Infant & Children (WIC).  There are three clinical locations in the County (Mont Belvieu, Anahuac and Winnie).

Programs
Clinical Health ServicesChambers County Public Health Department provides clinical services in the core public health areas of STD treatment; tuberculosis prevention diagnosis and treatment and provision of childhood and adult immunizations.

Public Health Emergency Preparedness and ResponseThe Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Program (PHEPR) is the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) grant program through the Texas Department of State Health Services.  PHEPR program works with local, state and federal officials, local partners and private industry to develop workable solutions to protect the public health of Chambers County residents from the impact of a natural or man-made emergency.  PHEPR’s mission is to improve the county’s response capabilities through all Biosurveillance, Community Resilience, Countermeasures and Mitigation, Incident Management, Information Management and Surge Management.  Epidemiology and the First Responder Immunization Program are under the PHEPR Department.

Women Infant & ChildrenThe WIC Program is a special supplemental food program that provides nutrition education and food benefits for qualifying children and infants, as well as pregnant, breastfeeding, and post-partum women. We also offer breastfeeding support. State of Texas residency is required.
